“The older I get the less I listen to what people say and the more I look at what they do.” -Andrew Carnegie
Words are weak, actions speak.
Don’t tell me what you are going to do, show me the receipts from what you have done as Mick Hunt would say.
If you tell me you are going to do X in the next week, show me your calendar. This is a reflection of your plan and effort. If you are booked solid for 8-10 hours a day in meaningful work that will move the needle, if you have time every day to improve your skills, if you have outreach as an appointment that you will not skip, if you roll up your sleeves and DO for an extended period, I’ll believe you because you have alignment between word and action.
But if you just talk? If you tell me what you are going to do so you get the dopamine hit of discussion instead of the greater one from DOING, you are just another bag of wind that will be gone in a year.
