Play to Win, or Get Off the Ice

By Joe Templin · April 28, 2026 · 1 min read

“If you play hockey, you might as well win.”

— Martin Brodeur

Life is a game you play, and none of us are getting out alive so you might as well play the game to win.

You are in business. Do you show up at 9:30, grab a coffee and maybe start working around ten — or do you hit the gym early and hit the office at 7:00, ready to win the morning and the day?

I can’t understand people that just lollygag it, in relationships or sports or in their profession. You can do almost anything, so if you are choosing to be in a sales service field like we are, why are you only half-assing it?

Pour your heart into it when you are working and then go have fun outside the office with a clear conscience knowing you did everything while there to win.

Play to win. Or get off the ice.
