Small Courage, Little Life

By Joe Templin · October 30, 2026 · 1 min read

Life shrinks or expands according to one’s courage.

— Anaïs Nin

Small courage, little life. Great courage leads to great deeds and epic stories.

Maybe you remember in the movie Troy when Brad Pitt as Achilles is getting ready to ride to battle and the kid says “That Thessalonian that you’re fighting, that is the biggest man I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t want to fight him!” To which Achilles cooly responds: that’s why no one will remember your name.

Do you want to be remembered for great deeds and production, or live in fear and avoid the fight and be one of the nameless shades, forgotten by those that actually live?
