Rant time. I HATE that people give part time effort yet expect overtime outcomes.
Excellence takes work. Day after day, week after week, year after year. No “Easy Button”, no magic pill or shot or hooking your brain into The Matrix and downloading Kung Fu or the ability to navigate difficult conversations.
30+ years in I still work 60+ hour weeks, and I practice my basics every day. Just like Messi or any of the greats, because incremental improvements don’t show up as overnight success but the slow grind that polishes a raw diamond into a beautiful gemstone. Compound interest is how Warren Buffet built his $100B+ fortune, and your career is the same. A little bit better every day in some way in the relentless march to excellence can only happen if you show up with intent over and over and over, through all conditions and seasons, to build something beautiful and lasting.
