Warm Weather Walkabouts

By Joe Templin · August 3, 2026 · 1 min read

“Summertime is always the best of what might be.” -Charles Bowden

The days are longer and yet we seem to still completely fill them with light and laughter and little things. Children run around, exuding enthusiasm that is contagious whether they are six or sixteen, and the college break creates an influx of energy all around.

There is hope, be it for Independence Day or your local baseball team or for that upcoming trip to the lake. There are beautiful late sunsets coloring the sky and birds before dawn calling us to get up and see the wonders of the summer morning that awaits.

There are farmers markets and festivals, endless opportunities to interact with friends and family and build new relationships. People are friendlier when it is nice out, the sunny weather revealing sunny dispositions and giving rise to summer friendships and flings and conversations that cannot happen in the dead cold of winter.

It is the best of times to go out and mingle and meet. Do not let the summer slip by as too many already have.
